The “Making Jewellery – small enterprises for a big European crises” was a joint project of eight partners from six European countries.
The overall objective of the project was to strengthen the link between the jewellery makers from around Europe and to make it easier for them to function in an international context. At the same time it gave opportunities for unemployed and older people to enter the field as there are many opportunities in jewellery making that do not require a large capital or expensive premises.
This project also encouraged students engaged in jewellery making and other forms of artisanal education to seek opportunities abroad. To help in this the partnership developed an ECVET unit that enables the students to achieve credits during their mobility periods. ECVET system promotes the comparability and transparency of qualifications in different European countries this way improving the employability and encouraging free mobility.
